Wet Paint Nail Glaze System Pastel

Today I want to show you something I never heard of: the Wet Paint Nail Glaze System. I own the pastel 6 pack but there is also a bold set available. Basically the Wet Paint Nail Glaze System is about creating different colours using different base colours and different glaze colours. In the 6 pack I own there are three base colours and three glaze colours.

Wet Paint Pastel Bases

The first base in the picture is Inspire, a pastel pink creme. Then we have our pastel orange creme called Innocence and Immortal, a pastel tangerine creme. The base colours are very pigmented but everytime I put on one coat I had a few bald spots and had to use two coats. The formula is good: not too thick or too thin. They dry really fast, faster than most polishes I own.

Wet Paint Pastel Glazes

The baby pink creme on the left is Affection. We also have Desire, a pastel yellow creme and Karess, a pale blue creme. The glazes have a different formula: it's thinner and more watery. It's harder to work with these and you need to pay attention while painting your nails with them because they can be streaky. These also dry fast, a little slower than the bases, but still very quickly.

With these six colours you can create 18 different shades. In the package comes a colour chart that shows you which base and glaze to use for the desired colour. You pick your base and glaze colour and start polishing!

For example: you want to try colour 14. The chart tells you to use Immortal as a base and layer it with two coats of Affection. It's an easy system. One thing though: the colours are very similar to each other. I see the difference but I think there could have been done more with the bases. Maybe trade the tangerine creme in for another colour so the outcomes won't be that close to each other. I do like the variety of pastels on the wheel.

Innocence & Affection

This is the first swatch I have for you. The soft pink of Affection gives the orange a softer look which really appeals to me. This might be the first orange toned polish I'd wear!

Inspire & Karess (2x)

Karess makes Inspire a soft lavender with a hint of blue. I've used two coats of Karess on Inspire.

I think this is a great system. Playing with it was very fun and the outcome of some colours really surprised me. For this pack however I think you need to be mad about pastels - I can see that other people don't care about 4 shades of pastel pink or orange.

Ciaté Paintpots Festival Fever Part 1

Hi dear reader!

I've never showed you these Ciaté's but because of this great sunny day I decided to take them out! You probably know the cute bow bottles, the one thing I fell for when buying my first Ciaté. Festival Fever is Ciaté's 2010 spring/summer collection.

First up is Ciaté Fun Fair, a nice pink pastel creme. The picture is taken in daylight and it's showing a little more pale than it really is, it's pinker in real life. I'm wearing three coats. This might be the first pink I'd wear more than once! Application was fine though the polish was a little too thin for my taste, it was a little runny.

And then there's Ciaté Access All Areas, a very bright, medium peach coloured creme. Like a neon, it dries satin and it's totally in your face. On the picture I'm wearing three coats. I'm not fond of neon polishes or colours like this so it isn't my thing but I think this is a special one in the collection. I'd even call it a must have if you're mad about these bright peachy colours.

I really like it more glossy. This is Access All Areas with my Nubar Diamont top coat. Application was better than Fun Fair, less runny. If you love this colour you can always check out my giveaway here, open till May 31.

And last for today, Ciaté Main Stage. This is a medium berry creme that applied the best of the three I showed you today. The formula is good. The picture shows you two coats, I do think it'll cover in one coat but I'm a thin coat polisher. ;)

I'll show you the other three tomorrow. Fun Fair and Main Stage aren't that special but they're both nice colours. I'd be very surprised if there weren't any dupes to find for these. What is your take on these three colours? Do they scream spring and summer to you?

Going Green

Good afternoon dear reader!
So today is St. Patrick's Day,something I don't know and celebrate but I did choose a green polish to wear today. So secretly, this is a half St. Paddy's mani. :')



I'm wearing Orly's Enchanted Forest. This is a shade of green that actually reminds me of a forest - dark and calm. Over that I used Konad's plate M59 and Konad's special Pastel Green stamping polish. Those ties are too cute for me though I really like it when green. If this was pink I'd never wear it. To top the whole thing off I used tiny rhinestones which change colour every time the light falls on them.

Essence Cute as Hell Collection

Hi dear reader!
Today I received two packages: one from Models Own, and one I've been dying to get my hands on: the Essence Cute as Hell collection! This collection isn't available in the Netherlands, but is in Germany, so Jeannette of the Swatchaholic was so sweet and send me these! Thank you so much! Of course I had to swatch these immediatly after getting them.



First up is Bad Girl. This is a soft orange, the picture makes it look too bright because it isn't. It's very pretty but I don't think I'll wear this too often since orange isn't my favourite colour. ;)



Then we have Naughty but Nice. It's a pastel yellow and I don't think there's anything naughty about it, it's just a very sweet spring colour. I think it looks like China Glaze Lemon Fizz (that I will receive very soon) and it looks a little like Models Own Lemon Meringue (see Michèle's blog: Lacquerized). I might so some comparing later.



Here you see Not Just Cute, my second favourite polish of the collection. I almost never wear pinks, they're not my colour of choice, but this one is so sweet!



And last, but not least: Date Me! I'm so crazy about purples and this lavender colour makes my mouth water! I know, it looks a bit blue in the picture, but it's really a tad darker and a little more purple toned.

Overall I'm very happy with this collection, I'm all in the pastel trend, love it. I've applied three coats of each (except for Date Me!) and I must say: they apply very nicely. Too bad Essence is only selling this in Germany!
