Dots & Spots

Hey all! How's everyone doing? Today will be a short post and I will show you, as the title already tells you, something with dots. I already posted a dots manicure a few days ago but they're so friggin' cute!



Here you see H&M Love at First Sight as the base colour. I've used only Models Own polishes for the dots: Lilac Dream, Lemon Meringue, Feeling Blue and Slate Green. Of course I also used my dotting tool for this!

I feel this mani has a little Easter vibe to it, but I really like it. It's springy and I want this on my toes!

Hi dear reader!

Happy fifth of May! In the Netherlands we celebrate the end of the second world war and there are festivities and concerts in the whole country.

Today I'm rocking a swoop mani. I did one before using three colours but I wanted to do it slightly different and used more. All polishes I used are from Models Own. The base colour is Beth's Blue, a gorgeous pale blue, I used three coats. After that I used Slate Green, a dustier green, creating a half circle. The colour in the green circle and the half circle is Feeling Blue, a brighter blue. After that I used Emerald City for the bling!

The dots are created with my friend the dottingtool and Lilac Dream. I also used Tickled Pink for my dots and again for some bling: Magenta Divine.

Last time I wrote about MO's Mixed Up, I didn't like the application of it. I can tell you that it's really different with the creme polishes, they apply really smooth!

Models Own - Mixed Up

Hi dear reader!

How are you doing? I'm sitting outside with my lappy on my lap but it really is too hot here. Around twelve it already was 22 degrees celcius wich is pretty darn hot for this time of the year. The best thing that goes with this crazy weather are the thunderstorms that follow! Oh boy am I looking forward to this evening! :D

Today I want to show you Mixed Up, a polish by Models Own. Mixed Up has a clear base and is packed with small black glitter and a little larger holographic glitter. Sounds pretty good eh? I thought so.

You know, the polish looks pretty awesome. I love the holographic glitter in it, too bad it doesn't show up in the pictures the way I want it to. The second picture is the way it looks to me in real life.

Application was a bitch. I'm not going to lie about that. First coat was okay, - as always with these glitter polishes - not covering anything. Second coat got sucky, the polish really starts to thicken. And as for the third coat: ooooooh my gawd. Thick, goopy and it left me with big chunky nails. It looked like my nails were 5 centimeters thick. Drying time was pretty quick though! I needed three coats of Diamont to even the glitters out.

If you're willing to put this on your nails and accept the problems I have with it I salute you, I'm going to keep this in my Helmer for now. I'm not going to spend almost 30 minutes getting my nails cleaned properly anymore! Too bad because this is a friggin awesome polish!

Dear Models Own. I like your polishes. I really do. But this one applies too shitty to be good. Pleaaaaase make me a black based holographic glitter one, pleaaaaaaaase?!

Spring Mani's Part 2!

Hi dear reader!
As promised, the second part of my spring mani's! Above you see my dots design. I used Models Own - Beth's Blue as my base colour. With the dottingtool I placed two colours of dots on my nails, both Models Own polishes: Lemon Meringue and Lilac Dream.



My funky french! ;) This is Models Own - Lemon Meringue for the base and Feeling Blue for the french. The gems are from Essence, they have a cute nail jewel line.



Last, my mani that is based on a watermelon! Essie - Mint Candy Apple is used as my base colour. I created the lines using a really thin paintbrush and the following polishes: Essence - Not Just Cute, Diamond Cosmetics - Sparkling Sherry, Ciaté - Stiletto and Models Own - Slate Green.

I saved the best for last I think, these are really my favourite mani's out of the whole bunch. Especially the watermelon is my favourite.

Spring Mani's Part 1!

Finally I have some time for posting a nice and longer post again! The Dutch nailboard I visit a lot had a theme for thread #100 and that was spring. I had so much fun making these spring mani's!

Above you see my strawberry nails. I used Barry M - Matt White as the base colour, OPI - OPI Red for the strawberries and Models Own -Slate Green and Ciaté - Stiletto for the leafs. I used a really thin brush but unfortunatly they look a little... Hmm, not as neat as I wanted. But strawberries are spring and summer food and I think this mani is pretty cute.



For my next mani I used a sponge. First I painted my nails with China Glaze's Something Sweet. I used Zoya - Reece for the first layer of sponged polish, then I topped China Glaze - 2030 over that and for the finish I used Art de Lautrec - 01B. I used the Konad gold dots from my Bling manicure to give this a little extra. I don't know how I feel about this one but like Michèle said, they look a bit like tiny petit fours. The one you get when it's easter. ;)




And last for today, but certainly not least: my flower mani. The base colour is Models Own - Lilac Dream and I used Essence's Nail Jewels for the gem flowers. The dots are created with my dottingtool and OPI's Dim Sum Plum.
