Go Dutchies!

Thursday, June 24, 2010
Hi all! Today is another match for the Netherlands in the World Cup. Now I know that they already reached the 1/8 finals but since I didn't post a World Cup mani last time, here's one now.

World Cup Nail Art Design Rhinestones

I'm wearing Essence Date Me from the Cute as Hell collection and my middle finger has different coloured rhinestones on it, of course in the colours of our flag!

Enjoy the match and have a nice day!

Dots

Wednesday, June 16, 2010
Hey all! I've been doing lots of dotted manicures lately. I really don't know why but they all look so cute and are really easy to create with a dotting tool.

Nail Art Design Dottingtool Rhinestones China Glaze Channelesque China Glaze Something Sweet

This is one of my latest dot manicure. I've done this design, including the rhinestones, before with MAC's Blue India and Orly Gumdrop. I choose China Glaze Channelesque as my base colour and China Glaze Something Sweet for the dots. I really like this combination of colours. For the finishing touch I placed one pink rhinestone on each nail as a dot.

This mani is really easy to create so it's also possible to do one with no nail art experience. Some people use a toothpick to create the dots but I don't like the small dots that it creates so it's definitely worth buying a dotting tool. You can find one for €3!

Have a great day!

Anchor Mani Nautical Sailor Nail Art Design Rhinestones Kinetics Fashion Blue OPI Red China Glaze White Out

Harrrr dear reader!

Today I created an anchor mani. I really like sailors and their anchor tattoos, as well as anchor earrings, bracelets and all that kind of stuff. Recently I've seen lots of nice things with this sailor theme and I can't help it, I just looooove it!

My base colour is Kinetics - Fashion Blue, a great deep medium blue creme. It applies really good, this is so easy to handle and because of the smooth formula the polish ends up even on your nails. I'm wearing two coats. This is my first Kinetics and good news for us Dutchies: the Dutch webshop Alice & Jo's sells it! I used China Glaze - White Out for the tips and after that OPI - Red to put a smaller line under the white tips.

I've created the anchor with one of the stripers I got from Daph (thanks dearrr!), the Nail Art Pen by Nubar in the colour Gold Frost. After that I took out my ruby and topaz rhinestones for some extra bling. Also, I really need a new top coat because mine get all bubbly. All of them. I'm in the process of thinning them all so hopefully that works and I can use them a little longer.

And! I thought it would be fun to do some tutorials once in a while so if there's something you'd like to see, please let me know! :)

Have a nice day!

OPI - Damone Roberts 1968

Wednesday, June 2, 2010
Hi dear reader!

So you've all heard of OPI having a rerelease of the limited Damone Roberts and I just had to have it. I love greens so when Ange from Scandalously Polished tweeted she had a few, I responded and a week later it was mine! Damone Roberts is the eyebrow king in Hollywood (I didn't know) and this shade is based on the wall colors of his salon (another thing I didn't know).

OPI Damone Roberts 1968 Pastel Mint Green Limited Edition Rerelease

It's a pastel mint green creme and I do like these shades, but it didn't get me all hyper and dancing around the room. It is a nice addition to the collection though. :) Application was fine, not the best I had from OPI but it was managable. I'm wearing three coats in the picture. I used my silver Essence striper and light green rhinestones to pimp up this baby - I needed a little nail art in my life.

Thanks for visiting and have a nice day!

OPI DS Fantasy

Sunday, May 16, 2010
Hi dear reader!

How was the weekend? I haven't done much the last couple of days, totally didn't feel like coming out of bed so guess where my hotspot was? Right, in bed.

Today I want to show you a polish I bought a while ago. It's Fantasy from OPI's Designer Series and it's a gorgeous shade of dark blue. Since I'm a sucker for blues I like them all but you have to believe me when I say this is stunning! Fantasy isn't that holographic like the others from the Designer Series but it does has lots of subtle multicoloured glitter in it that creates this amazing depth. It's like the holo wants to burst out but doesn't.

Application was great. I really dislike paying a lot of cash for polishes but this one was worth every penny. It applies smooth and is opaque in one layer. I used two layers - but that was more because I am a neurotic polisher.

I also applied three colours of rhinestones on each nail. I like rhinestones.

Removing was fine, no staining here! I am a sucker for blues bit this one is seriously a gem in my blue collection. I love it.

Lady Gaga Inspired Nails

Sunday, March 28, 2010
Hi dear reader!
I got something fun for you today! You all remember the Gaga Nails in Pokerface, right? The black polished, heavily studded pretties? Here's what they looked like:

I created this today! It's been in my mind creating nail art inspired by Gaga for a while now because she wears the most prettiest nail art in her videos. I received my rhinestones yesterday from DNA and today is my free day, so I had something to do. :)

I used:
- CG Liquid Leather as my base colour
- Essence dotter for placing my rhinestones
- Ruby Red and Crystal rhinestones
- Essence topcoat as my replacement for glue ;)
- David topcoat to make it all shiny!

Here's how it turned out:

Okay, it's kind of... Blingy? Definitly fun to wear at a party but I'd never wear it on a normal day. I had the most CRAZY experience with David, he made my polish all bubbly! :(

Who or what is your inspiration for creating nail art?

Thanks for visiting!

Glamour Mani

Wednesday, March 24, 2010
Hi dear reader!
I'm busy so here's a mani I created for a contest. The theme is glamour and even though it could be more glamourous, I still like it. :)

I used American Apparel - Passport Blue as my base colour and frenched it with China Glaze - Millenium. The rhinestones are from the Essence Nail Jewels.

Where do you think of when you hear the word glamour?

Going Green

Wednesday, March 17, 2010
Good afternoon dear reader!
So today is St. Patrick's Day,something I don't know and celebrate but I did choose a green polish to wear today. So secretly, this is a half St. Paddy's mani. :')

I'm wearing Orly's Enchanted Forest. This is a shade of green that actually reminds me of a forest - dark and calm. Over that I used Konad's plate M59 and Konad's special Pastel Green stamping polish. Those ties are too cute for me though I really like it when green. If this was pink I'd never wear it. To top the whole thing off I used tiny rhinestones which change colour every time the light falls on them.

Thanks for stopping by!

Recycle, Stripers, Studs and Rhinestones

Thursday, February 25, 2010

Hi dear reader!
How are you doing today? I'm feeling much better and I even wanted to play around with my nail art stuff, so that's a sign of getting better! ;) I told you yesterday I received a small nail art package, I've ordered it on Dollar Nail Art with a large group of ladies from the Dutch nail topic. I received black rhinestones, three kinds of studs and hex glitters and I've actually placed a new order because these are all so cute!

On the picture above you see what I've used for today's mani: China Glaze Recycle, Essence stripers Silver and Black, black rhinestones, silver round studs, a plastic stick, Essence top coat and Seche Vite.

I thought Recycle would make a neat base colour and so it did! It combines pretty good with the black and silver. I had some issues with it first, the formula was really thick and almost impossible to polish with but with a few drops of Seche Restore it was perfect! I made a three lines on my nails with the Essence stripers and placed the rhinestones and studs on my nail, using the plastic stick and the Essence top coat. I didn't use Seche Vite for it because I'm so slow with this and it would be dry after I placed my first stud. :') I used Seche to top it all off because it's a thick top coat and it really bugs me when I feel glitters, or in this case studs, on my nails. It made it a little less horrid. ;)

So, here are the pictures of the final result:

Neat eh? I'm still practicing with the stripers, sometimes I get really thick lines and that's something I want to avoid!

Tadaa! Wow, you've actually seen something very special today: the first time I'm showing my thumb on my blog! I never make pictures of it because recently my nail broke and now it's pretty grown back but it still makes me sad.

This one is shot in artificial light. Why? I don't know, I just like my nails now.

After all this was a succesful day for me and my nail art skills. ;)
What do you think?

Have a nice thursday!
